UI stands for user interface, or the way your WoW is set up and looks like. Your UI can be modified and customized.
You can make your own using only two addons: bartender and sunnart. Install these and use these tips. *make sure you get the latest versions of all addons*
- to bring up the bartender options menu, type /bt
- in the bartender menu, you can select how many bars you want, how big you want the icons, and how far appart you want them to be, etc...
- if you want to move your bars around, uncheck lock at the top of the menu, lock them again when you have them where you want them
- sunnart just makes bartender look better by applying the skin of your choice
- bring up the sunnart menu by typing /sunn or right click on the icon next to your minimap
- you can download skin package1, package2, package3, package4, package5, package6, package7, package8, and package9
- you can also make your own skins, all you have to do is: rezise your artwork to 1536x256px, divide your artwork into three different panels {left, center, and right} each with the dimentions 128, 256 or 512px
- save each panel as Targa (.tga) format
- replace any skin file you already have with your files or make a new folder for them
- once you've done that, your chat box might not be where you want it, to move it, scroll over it until the "general" tab pops up, right click on it and select "unlock", now you can move it to wherever you want, when you're done you might want to relock it so you don't accidentally move it
- you can change the text color of your chat box by right clicking the general tab and going into "options"
- Instead of sunnart and bartender, you can also use warcrafty, which makes your ui look like it does in Warcraft. You can find the options menu for this in the interface and then clicking "addons".
- You can also get X-Perl to improve your UI. It's a unit frames addon that's very customizable. It also makes everything more organized which is especially nice if you're a healer. To go the the X-Perl menu, type /xperl . While you're in that window you can also click and drag your frames around to get them where you want them, you can do this when in combat too to move around the "target" and "target's target" frames.
- Something fun to mess around with that doesn't even require an addon is the chat box. You can change the colors of the diferent chats by scrolling over the chat box until the "general" tab pops up. Right click on the general tab and go to settings to adjust the colors, or from the tab menu you can also change the text size and the backbackground color and transparency. You can also move the box around by checking "unlock window", make sure to lock it again when you're done so you don't move it by accident. From the main tab menu you can also chose to make more tabs by checking "creat new window", naming it and then adjusting the individual settings like before. For example you can make a "whisper tab" so that you can only see whispers by going into settings and unchecking everything besides whispers, or whatever chat you want to see.
